WODTap Privacy Policy

Effective date: 01/09/2026
App: WODTap
Publisher: Mike Krus

This Privacy Policy explains how Mike Krus (“we”, “us”, or “our”) handles information when you use the WODTap iPhone app, Apple Watch app, and Watch complication (collectively, the “App”).

Replace the bracketed fields in this document before publishing it. This policy is a template describing the App’s current implementation and should be reviewed for the jurisdictions in which you operate.

Information the App handles

Health and fitness information

If you grant permission, WODTap reads and, when you save a Watch workout, writes HealthKit data needed to run and summarize a workout. This may include:

– heart-rate samples and heart-rate summaries;
– active energy burned (calories);
– workout records; and
– your date of birth, only when you choose Read Age from Health so the App can estimate a maximum heart rate.

HealthKit permissions are controlled by Apple. You can change them at any time in Settings > Health > Data Access & Devices. WODTap does not use health information for advertising, sell it, or share it with data brokers. The App does not use HealthKit data for medical diagnosis or treatment. Workout and heart-rate information is displayed as fitness information and is not medical advice.

Workout and settings information

WODTap stores workout configurations, timers, round records, notes, templates, preferences, and workout summaries. These are stored locally on your device using Apple’s app storage. The iPhone and Watch exchange workout state and live metrics through Apple’s WatchConnectivity framework when the devices are paired.

Photos and camera information

If you choose to take or attach a photo, WODTap accesses the camera or photo library for that action. Attached photos are resized and stored locally with the related workout. WODTap does not upload those photos to us.

Music information

If you use the music controls, WODTap may request Media & Apple Music permission to show the title, artist, artwork, and playback state of the currently playing item and to provide playback controls. WODTap does not download or upload your music.

Information we do not request

The App does not require an account, name, email address, phone number, precise location, contacts, or advertising identifier. The current App has no advertising, analytics, or third-party tracking SDKs, and has no server or cloud account operated by us.

How information is used

WODTap uses information only to:

1. run and display workouts and timers;
2. display heart rate and calories during a workout and in its summary;
3. estimate heart-rate zones when you provide an age or maximum heart rate;
4. save, display, edit, and delete your local workout history, notes, templates, and photos;
5. synchronize an active workout between your iPhone and Apple Watch; and
6. provide the music controls you request.

When information is shared

WODTap does not sell, rent, or share your information with advertisers, data brokers, or other companies for their own marketing. Information is sent between your iPhone and Apple Watch through Apple’s operating-system services when you use the paired-workout features. HealthKit data is handled under Apple’s HealthKit privacy controls. Apple may process information as part of providing its operating-system services; see Apple’s privacy policy.

We may disclose information if required by law, legal process, or a valid government request, or when needed to protect the rights, safety, and security of users, us, or others.

Storage, retention, and deletion

WODTap is designed to keep workout history, preferences, and attached photos on your device. We do not receive a copy on our servers. You can delete individual workouts and their attached photos from the App’s history screens, uninstall the App, or remove its data using your device’s settings. HealthKit records written by WODTap are managed separately in Apple’s Health app and may need to be deleted there.

Device backups and Apple’s operating-system storage behavior may affect how locally stored App data is retained or restored. Please use the device and Apple account controls available to you to manage backups and Health data.

Security

We rely on Apple’s platform protections, including app sandboxing, HealthKit authorization, and WatchConnectivity protections. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Your choices and rights

You can:

– deny or withdraw Camera, Photos, Media & Apple Music, and Health permissions in Settings;
– choose not to use Apple Watch or HealthKit features;
– review or delete HealthKit records in Apple’s Health app; and
– edit or delete local workout history and photos in WODTap.

Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights such as access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, or objection. Because WODTap does not maintain an account or a server copy of your data, many requests can be completed directly in the App or in Apple’s system settings. For questions or a rights request, contact us using the details below.

Children

WODTap is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required where you live), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, contact us so we can address the concern.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when the App or applicable requirements change. We will post the updated policy at this URL and revise the effective date. Your continued use of the App after an update means the updated policy applies to your use of the App.
